Rev Dr Tony Barker. Regional Development Officer for the Methodist Church "On building sustainable spiritual communities in Cambridgeshire"- General Synod motion on Faith, Work and Economic life
At the July General Synod the motion was passed which affirmed work, paid and unpaid, as a spiritual activity and recognised the importance of Christian values in economic life. Bishops and clergy will be encouraged to place work issues higher up their priority list particularly where preaching and visiting is concerned.
We welcome this motion and will be pressing our local clergy to support us in our work and put this motion into action.
