Today there will be childrens’ work in both the Grafton Centre and the Lion Yard led by Jason Balbirnie and Andy Atkins.  Pray that all who attend this event may learn the real meaning of Easter and take it home to their families.

 

Pray for Alan at Asda as he holds an Easter Craft event for shoppers’ children today – pray for the various Easter themed crafts as well as those who will be volunteering to assist Alan.

 

Christ is Risen Hallelujah.  Please join the Chaplaincy in a celebration Sonrise Service in the Grafton Centre at 7am this morning.  Praise God for the work that has been done by those planning this service.

Please pray for the students and staff of Anglia Ruskin University that they will find the Easter break a real time of restoration before the pressures of exams, assignments and marking in the last 4 weeks of semester.

 

Dorothy Peyton Jones visits Ridgeons in Cromwell Road in Cambridge today.  Pray for her as she seeks to talk with the staff and help with any spiritual and emotional problems she might come across.

 

The Executive Committee meets in Huntingdon today, pray for any decisions that they have to make. Also please pray for Dorothy as she visits Cambridge County Court today.

 

Please pray with St Benet’s Church for those who work in the Christian Bookshop (CLC) in Regent Street, also for those working in Tiko Kiko and Nash Matthews.

The Business Exhibition in Ely Cathedral opens today and the Chaplaincy to People at Work have a stall at the exhibition.  Pray for useful conversations that may happen there.

 

Give thanks for the vision to expand the Waterways Chaplaincy into our area.  Pray for John Clark and his wife Nicola, newly arrived at Hartford Marina as they look for a Church to worship in.

 

Give thanks for Robin Giles as he steps down from being a Chaplain at Cambridge Regional College, pray for Paula Spalding as she takes up that role as Associate Chaplain to the College.

 

Pray that a good relationship can be made with Ed Quigley, who will lead the Cambridge Business Improvement District, which will affect the City Centre.

The editorial group of the Chaplaincy are meeting today to plan the next news letter, pray that they might have wisdom and guidance as to what needs to go into the letter.

 

The Chaplaincy group in Huntingdon are seeking a Chaplain to visit the District Council Offices – pray that God will direct the right person to take on this important voluntary work.

 

Today is the final day of the Ely Cathedral Business Exhibition.  There will be a Chaplaincy Service at 12.30 – please pray for Rev Paul Hills as he preaches at that service.

 

Pray for the Huntingdon group as they explore offering a Chaplaincy to Luminus, a major housing provider in the area.

Next week, on Monday there will be an Associate Chaplains Breakfast at 8.30 am in the Grafton Centre.  Please pray for the many Associate Chaplains who work among the people in our county.

 

Please pray for Stuart Wood as he hosts an outreach event with Linvoy Primus tomorrow.  It is expected that about 140 people will attend including some players and staff of Cambridge United.

 

Staff and students return to Cambridge Regional College today for the start of the final term of the academic year, which will include examinations and assessments.  Please pray for them.

 

Today is a study day at Cardiff Centre for Chaplaincy Studies.  Give thanks for the work of Andrew Todd, the Director, and please pray for all who will attend.  Also the Parks at One meeting at the Science Park with John Tuckwell speaking.

Dorothy is hosting a “Mingle” at St John’s Innovation Centre, a coffee morning to meet the tenants.  Jason is meeting with the Theological Students today, and Dorothy is going to the Cambridge network event this evening.  A busy day!

 

Dorothy and Andy Atkins are going to Luton today, to a day conference there about City Centre Chaplaincy.  Pray that they may be able to input as well as take away information and ideas.

 

Please pray for Paula Spalding, the new Associate Chaplain at CRC.  Pray that the recent staff meetings at the College following confirmation of college funding for the next academic year were successful.

 

Yesterday was Michael Wiseman’s last day at work as the Manager of the Grafton centre in Cambridge.  Pray for relationships with Glyn, his deputy, and an early appointment of a successor.

Please pray for Martin Thompson and Charles Mather from Bar Hill, who did the recent Chaplaincy course, as they consider how they might minister to Tesco and other shops in Bar Hill.

 

Please pray for Dorothy as she attends a Chamber of Commerce Event in Cambridge today.

 

Please pray for Jason Balbirnie as he ministers to the workers in both the Grafton Shopping Centre and the Grand Arcade shops in Cambridge.

Pray for John Clark, Rob Booth and Helen Arnold as they are going through a very protracted vetting process in order to become police Chaplains.

 

Pray for the Street Pastors who are out on the streets every Friday and Saturday nights in Cambridge, as they relate to night club staff, taxi drivers and the emergency services during the night.

 

As the football season draws to a close, please pray for Stuart Wood, as he seeks to offer emotional help to those players who will not be at the club to play for the next season, as their contracts are finishing.

 

Pray for Stephen Talbot as he leads the Police Chaplains across our county.  Remember all of those who minister to the police as a part of the Chaplaincy team.

Today the Chaplaincy to People at Work local Cambridge Committee meets to plan the programme and date for the next Business breakfast.  Please pray for them in the meeting.  Dorothy is going to a Christian Professionals network today.

 

Please pray for Carol Nicolas-Letch who also took part in the recent Chaplaincy course, as she would like to extend her school Chaplaincy work.  Pray that all who took the 2 day course might benefit from it.
